Ep 13: From Soldier to CEO with Adam Contos

Death isn’t something many of us think about, but my next guest on The Richard Robbins Show has faced it more times than I dare count.

Adam Contos, CEO of RE/MAX and leader to over 125,000 agents across 110 countries and territories, used to command a different type of brigade in his earlier years. Right out of high school, Adam joined the United States Marine Corps. Proudly, Adam states, “I needed something to create some alignment and organization in my brain and Uncle Sam did a good job of that.”

Working with RE/MAX for over 15 years, Adam climbed the ranks and now finds himself atop one of the largest real estate companies in the world. An avid book reader, he is an advocate of continued education. “Either you’re appreciating in value or you’re depreciating in value, there’s not mediocrity of just getting to some place and coast and thinking it’s okay,” says Adam.

From soldier to salesman, marine to marketer, this episode of The Richard Robbins Show has it all. Adam and I talk about the future of real estate, the impact of iBuyer technology, the secret to a successful agent, and why a serial killer once thanked Adam for capturing him.
